Hello Shreyan. I will tell you how two way switch works. So just to simply tell you what a 2 way switch is, there are two switches in two different locations which can control an electrical equipment or fitting to function on and off. There is a proper mechanism involved in this, which I will be explaining to you below.
How 2 Way Switch Works?
The first switch COM terminal is connected to the phase and the second switch COM terminal is connected to one end of the electrical fitting and the other end of the electrical fitting is connected to the neutral AC supply.
The L1 and L2 terminals of both switches are connected together. Here is how the whole thing works:

As you can see from the table above, the light is in the ON state when the COM terminal of both switches is connected with the L1 or L2 terminals. On the other hand, the light is in the OFF state when the first switch COM terminal is connected with the L1 terminal and the second switch COM terminal is connected with the L2 terminal and vice versa.

A two-way switch consists of three terminals. When I moved to my rented house, I was also amazed looking at the two way light switch.
