I am planning to add plants and gorgeous flowers to my terrace, and for that, roof garden waterproofing is a priority. So, I researched how to waterproof terrace for gardening. I found products like Asian Paints SmartCare Block Joining Mortar, SmartCare Cement-Based Tile Grout, and SmartCare Repair Polymer are effective ways to waterproof a terrace garden. Here are the detailed steps I came across.
How do You Waterproof a Terrace Garden?
You must clean your terrace garden and apply Asian Paints SmartCare Block Joining Mortar to fix the gaps (if it’s there).
Now, spray the water on the RCC substrate.
Ensure the prior application of SmartCare Repair Polymer is completely dry, and apply the second coat.
You can now place the Glass fiber mesh between the two layers.
Apply the third application of SmartCare Repair Polymer once the second coat has fully dried.
Where the RCC has a slope for water drainage, apply a layer of Asian Paints SmartCare Block Joining Mortar that is 20 mm thick.
Finally, do appropriate drainage, filtration, and other measures before filling the soil.
You can also install wind barriers, such as screens or trellises, if the terrace is subject to high winds. I am planning to hire a painter to do the job.
