Begin by switching off the power and removing the cover over the light fixture.
After you’ve removed the cover, you can remove the bulbs by gently twisting them. Keep them aside carefully.
Next, disconnect the wires in the ballast. Then, proceed to unscrew the ballast and remove it.
Once done, you need to unscrew the mounting screws that have kept the whole light fixture in its place.
You should be able to take out the light fixture. You will be left with a small box hole with wires coming out of it.
You can leave this hole if you want as it is already drywalled.
You can now replace kitchen fluorescent light with can lights.
That’s it, your new lights have been installed.
