Move furniture and cover your floor with drop cloths.
Apply painter's tape to the wall edges where they meet the ceiling.
Now, clean the ceiling and do the repairs if required.
Stir the primer and apply it with a paintbrush along the ceiling edges and around fixtures.
Now, roll primer over the rest of the ceiling. Allow it to dry.
Combine ten parts of ceiling paint with one part of the joint compound.
Mix with a drill and a mixing paddle until the mixture has the consistency of pancake batter.
Now, use a paintbrush to make incisions along fixtures and edges.
Apply the textured paint to the ceiling using a 3/4-inch roller cover.
Without painting the walls, roll as close to the edges as you can.
For a regular texture, apply one layer. If you want a smoother finish, thin the mixture and apply a second coat.
Create patterns and let them sit for half an hour.
Finally, leave the texture for a day (24 hours) to dry completely.
One tip the professional painter gave is that, if you are trying
