Well hello, I can tell you how to tape ceiling for painting walls. The process is pretty easy if you take a few steps carefully. I recently painted my room and also the ceiling with the help of a friend. We used painter's tape on the ceiling, so my experience from there will help you. You should first run a damp rag on your ceiling to remove dust and debris that could prevent adhesion of the tape. I will share the rest below.
How to Tape Ceiling to Paint Walls?
Position the tape along the edge of the ceiling where it meets the wall.
Ensure the tape is on the ceiling and not the wall.
As you spread the tape out, press down on it to make sure that it is flat against the ceiling.
You should try to apply the tape in steps of about 2 to 3 ft. Anything longer than this would be too tricky to work with.
Ensure the tape is as smooth and flat as possible because otherwise, any air pockets underneath the tape can provide space for the paint to seep into.
