To temporarily silence the alarm, press the Test/Silence button. If the alarm starts beeping after this you can follow these instructions:
Turn the alarm counterclockwise to access the battery compartment, then replace the old battery, and replace the backup battery.
You need to clean the unit. Debris and dust within can cause false alarms.
To reset the alarm, disconnect the circuit breaker, take out the alarm, and then press and hold the test button for 15 seconds before putting it back in place.
