In my home, I noticed there were gaps in my kitchen cabinets, so I planned to seal them. I hired a a carpenter to do the work. He started by cleaning the area, taping off the gap, and applying the caulk. I carefully observed the whole process and shared those, so you can learn how to seal gaps under kitchen cabinets easily.
How to Fill a Gap Under Kitchen Cabinets?
Clean the cabinet base and the floor around the gaps with an all-purpose cleaner.
Wipe them down with a wet rag and ensure the area is completely dry.
Next, apply painter’s tape along the edges of the cabinets and floor to get clean, straight lines and prevent extra caulk from spreading.
Choose white paintable caulk to match my cabinets, explaining that clear caulk works for wood-look cabinets and that paintable caulk can be coloured if needed.
Squeeze a bead of caulk into the gap and use a wet finger to press it in and remove excess.
Carefully smooth it so it was flush with the cabinets and floor, using a rag and his fingernail to get a neat line.
Finally, remove the tape before the caulk dried and let it sit for 30 to 40 minutes.
This is how he filled the gap in the cabinet. I hope this helps you understand the steps.
