A month ago, I noticed some scratches on my wall, and hence to give my wall a fresh look, I hired a painter to retexture it. I observed him follow the steps on how to retexture painted walls. He also informed me applying a joint compound to the surface is one of the most popular techniques for re-texturing walls. I have added the detailed steps below for you.
How to Retexture a Painted Wall?
Here is the process the painter followed to give a new texture and interest without having to repaint it entirely.
He used a fresh cloth, warm water, and a mild all-purpose cleaner to clean the walls.
Then, he used a trowel to apply the joint compound to the walls and let it dry fully.
After that, he sanded the walls smooth to get rid of extra material or rough edges.
He then finished the re-texturing process by applying a fresh coat of paint to the walls.
This is what I remembered. It was an affordable option to change the appearance of my room. I hope you will also try it out and see how it affects your house.
