Our wooden dressing cabinet was severely damaged because of the excessive heat and humidity. It was cracked and snapped into two sections. I am sharing the steps below for your reference.
How to Fix a Cracked Cabinet Door?
I found that you just need a wood epoxy and some duct tapes and the job is done. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to fix cracked cabinet door.
First, we removed the door off the hinges, and put duct tapes on the bigger part of the dressing door.
As a next step, we took the 2 part wood epoxy and attached the syringe tip on it and locked it in place. Then, we filled the needle tip with the epoxy by pressing on the plunger.
Then, we applied a thick bead of epoxy on the inside of the rim of the cabinet. My sister helped me here as it’s a bit tricky and can take a long time, but once it’s done, the rest of the process becomes easier.
Then, you must repeat the same process for the smaller piece of cabinet door.
Once we were done applying the epoxy, we attached the smaller section of the cabinet to the bigger one and pressed them firmly together.
Then, for extra bonding support, we added duct tapes on both ends and let it dry for a while.
So, in this way, we could fix our cracked door. I hope this guide helps you in your endeavours. If you find it difficult to follow by yourself, please consider getting a professional carpenter.
