How to Remove Texture from a Wall?
Here are the steps the professional painter performed to remove the texture from a wall.
He scraped off as much of the high, sharp edges of the flaking paint as he could with a drywall knife.
He then used coarse sandpaper to sand down the wall.
Then applied two coats of skim coat after combining the joint compound with water.
Now, he smoothed the coat with a drywall knife.
Before applying the next layer, he let the previous one completely dry.
After cleaning and priming the wall, he sanded it once more using finer sandpaper.
Finally, he applied the color of my choice to the walls.
I hope you found this helpful.
