With the beginning of June, I am a bit worried as mould on my living room walls is a prevalent problem, particularly during the rainy season. Every year, I face this issue, and try to clean it without damaging the paint. Mold must be removed gently yet effectively to avoid destroying the paint. So let me help you with how to remove mould from walls without damaging paint? Using harsh chemicals or abrasive instruments will peel paint.

How Do You Remove Mould from Painted Walls?

The basic step that I follow every year to remove mould from my painted walls are:

  1. To begin, fill a spray bottle with a 1:1 solution of white vinegar and water.

  2. Apply it immediately to the area affected by the mould and leave it there for 30 to 60 minutes.

  3. Use a sponge or soft cloth to gently wipe the wall; do not scrub too vigorously.

  4. You can also use a mild abrasive for tough areas, mix a small amount of baking soda into the vinegar solution.

Remember that bleach can fade paint, so avoid using it.
