In my opinion, lead poisoning can be dangerously caused by lead-based paint. You run the risk of endangering the health of you and your family by cleaning or messing with lead paint on doors, frames, or fences. So exposure must be minimised by precaution. The following is the best DIY lead paint removal method.

Hire professional cleaners from NoBroker to get away with lead paint. Paint your furniture by hiring experienced painters from NoBroker here.

How to remove lead based paint?

A lab can analyse suspicious lead paint if you're still unsure. A lab will conduct an analysis of small percentages of the paint particles. A cheap kit that can be purchased at your neighbourhood hardware or home renovation store will help with exterior lead paint removal. You can also refer to the following guide on how do you remove lead paint.

How to remove lead paint from plaster walls?

1) Put the control system in place

You can attach or tape the sheets of plastic to the walls, ceiling, and floor to construct a tightly sealed boundary and shield the floor. Use a sheet to cover the ground if you're working outdoors.

2) Wear protective equipment

You can put on boots and trousers. Put on the mask and pull the sweatshirt over your face and place the gloves on. All safety equipment must fit comfortably. You must tape down the gloves if the fit between them and the trousers is loose.

3) Spray the area, then scrub it

You can spray the area's floor with clean water from the sprayer. Use your other hand to scrape the paint off while holding the sprayer in the other. Lead paint should always be moist. This process also works with how to remove lead paint from wood.

4) Sweep the area

Sweep off lead-based paint instead of scraping it whenever you can. Large-scale lead paint removal is usually recommended. However, if scraping doesn't work, you can try using custom sanding blocks or a battery-powered sander. Similar to the scraping technique, thoroughly wet the area before sanding.

5) Organise the workplace

You can use the vacuum to thoroughly clean the job site after the paint has been removed. Remove the plastic wall with caution. Wipe off all surfaces with a moist towel while wearing safety gear and then dry the flooring by mopping.

Now you can remove the lead paint with this DIY lead paint removal process.
