How Do I Remove Kitchen Cabinets?
First up, you need to remove everything from your kitchen cabinets. Keep the items aside.
Find the hinges and screws that keep the hinges intact. Unscrew them with a screwdriver or a similar tool and pull the hinges gently.
After keeping the hinges aside, move on to the other screws. Some cabinet types are removed altogether using small screws. Unscrew them and take them down.
For modern cabinets, you may notice that they are attached. You can’t remove them all at once, so go slow here. Sometimes, the design of older cabinets is made as a single unit, you won’t have any other option there.
Now, you must call another person to support you as the cabinets have to be detached from the walls. If they are suspended by screws, unscrew them with either a power drill or a screwdriver. You may find sealant after unscrewing. So, use a utility knife down the sealant. With the help of a crowbar, fully detach the unit from the wall. Wear gloves and safety glasses while doing so.
If there is only glue which holds the cabinets, use a crowbar or a wedge by forcing it in between the wall and cabinet.
Pull the cabinets away from your kitchen wall and repeat the process for all the cabinet units.
