• In a spray bottle, combine a few drops of essential oils like peppermint, and lavender with water. Apply the mixture on surfaces or mist in fly-prone areas to keep flies away.

• You may make your own DIY fly traps by combining dish soap or apple cider vinegar with water. Place these traps next to windows or doors, as Manjot suggested, to draw in and capture flies.

If you don’t like the idea of spraying harmful chemicals, then you can use a vinegar trap as a fly repellent. Just pour about one inch of apple cider vinegar into a glass jar and add few drops of dish soap. Now, take a plastic wrap and cover the top and secure it with a rubber band. Poke some holes in the wrap, allowing flies to enter the trap. Now, flies will get attracted to the vinegar’s smell and get trapped.

You can place flytraps correctly both outdoors and indoors. Traps can be baited with meat, fruit, or sugar to attract them into the trap.

Have you heard of Venus Flytrap? It’s a carnivorous plant that eats insects. You can plant them on your balcony or near the windows, they will eat all the flies before they could come inside your home.

Flypaper contains a paper coated with a substance that has an appealing fragrance for the flies. And because it’s sticky, bugs or flies going near the flypaper get trapped. You can hang flypaper from ceilings, windows, and walls. This is my personal favorite method because it’s super easy!
