According to the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, the term Bardagar is someone who cultivates the owner’s land.The Bengali translation of the word is বট. The bardagar bears responsibility of all the expenses during the process of cultivation.
Here is how to remove Bardagar from land :
Bardagar can only be removed with order from the appropriate authority or officer as the State Government appoints. Bardagar can be removed due to the following reasons.
If the Bargadar fails to tender a deposit regarding his share of the produce.
If the bardagar is not cultivating the land personally.
The Bardagar has failed to cultivate the area (land)
If the Bradagar is using the land for any purpose other than agriculture.
If the Bardagar provides his share of the produce or cultivates the land. He cannot be removed. If you wish to do so, you will have to visit the Revenue Authority. You will be required to take consent from the Bargadar as well.
