You can still obtain the same mobile number even if you misplaced both your phone and SIM card. You must notify your service provider that you have misplaced your phone or SIM card as soon as possible. Your old SIM card will then be deactivated, and a new one with the same number will be issued to you.
You will have to give them a copy of the FIR, which details the theft of your cell phone, as well as a legitimate ID evidence. Depending on the provider, the new SIM card will be activated in two to four hours.
