Summary
To paint trailer house walls or vinyl mobile wall, begin by gathering tools, removing the battens (if you don’t want to keep them), cleaning, and degreasing the wall. Then, repair the holes or seams and sand them smooth. Then, apply a high-quality acrylic primer (two coats for vinyl) and, finally, apply two thin coats of high-quality latex paint using a roller and brush.

Before you start painting the walls of your constructed area, you must choose whether to leave the battens in place or remove them. If you can tolerate battens, you can just paint over them. Here is how to paint trailer house walls step-by-step:

  1. Gather equipment, such as a sponge, drywall knives, a bucket, drop cloths, an angled trim brush, and a paint roller.

  2. Begin by pulling away the battens that cover each seam of the vinyl-on-gypsum (VOG) wall panels. Don’t forget to finish the seams. It is a completely optional step.

  3. Use drop cloths to cover the furniture and floors.

  4. Now, clean the grease and debris from your house walls with a mild detergent solution.

  5. After that, you use a clean towel moistened with clear water and wipe the wall. Allow it to fully dry.

  6. Cover the edges of the floor, ceiling, and trim with painter's tape.

  7. Use spackle to fill in any damaged areas of the walls.

  8. Then sand smooth in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

  9. Cut in the primer around the wall's margins with an angled trim brush.

  10. Next, use a roller to apply the high-quality acrylic primer to the wide regions.

  11. In between coats, make sure the primer dries completely.

  12. Use one or two layers of premium acrylic latex paint. Once more, paint the wide areas with a roller after cutting in the edges with an angled trim brush.

  13. After the first coat has dried, reapply the paint.

  14. Finally, allow the second layer to completely dry.

High-quality primers and paints are advised when painting VOG panels. The primer and paint must adhere to the wall, and

I want to inform you that the cheap, generic paint simply doesn't have the same level of adherence as high-quality

paints.
