In March 2025, I hired a painter to paint my entire home, including high, sloped walls. I was unsure how to paint a vaulted wall, so I observed the steps he followed. All he did was start by gathering all the required tools, like an extension pole for the roller, an angled brush, a ladder, plastic sheets, high-quality paint, and painter’s tape. Here is the process he followed.

How to Paint Vaulted Ceiling Walls?

  1. Cover the nearby furniture and place drop cloths on it.

  2. Tape off fixtures, trimmings, and edges, and clean the vaulted ceiling walls.

  3. Use an extension roller to apply primer.

  4. Install a ladder, then "cut in" along the edges, corners, and ceiling lines with an angled brush.

  5. Now, apply the paint using an extension pole and a paint roller.

  6. For even color and longevity, you must apply a second coat.

  7. Before the paint dries completely, remove the painter's tape.

  8. Finally, remove drop cloths and put furniture back into place.

This is all about how to paint vaulted walls.
