We got the house painted before we moved and I was there to keep an eye on the whole process. The beginning of the painting takes place with the preparation of the space. I shall describe that and the other steps below.
How to Paint a New Build House?
Here is the process you can follow:
The entire space should be free to move. So, if you have any furniture or other items, move them to other places.
Next comes cleaning the walls. This can be done with mild dish soap and water. You can wipe down the walls, ceilings and trim to remove dust or dirt.
Then, mask the baseboards, trim floors and other areas you don’t want to paint. Use painter’s tape for this. Cover the switchboards as well.
Sand the wall for an even surface with fine-grit sandpaper.
Apply primer for the new paint to bond well. You can then paint 2-3 coats of paint. Take intervals between each coat of paint so the previous coat can dry completely.
Clean the spills and blemishes. Remove the painter’s tape and other protective covering.
