Summary
To pack plates and bowls for moving, cushion the box bottom with crushed paper. Wrap each plate individually in packing paper, adding extra layers for protection, and place them upright in the box. Wrap bowls separately, cushioning inside and outside, and stack carefully with paper between them. Fill empty spaces with soft materials, seal the box securely, and keep it upright during transport to prevent damage.

Here is how to pack plates and bowls for moving,

  1. Place a thick layer of crushed packing paper at the bottom of the box to create a soft cushion.

  2. Take one plate and keep it in the centre of a large sheet of packing paper.

  3. Fold one corner of the paper over the plate and cover it fully. Then fold the remaining corners tightly so the plate is completely wrapped.

  4. For extra safety, wrap the plate with one more sheet of paper and secure it with a small piece of tape.

  5. If you stack two plates together, place a sheet of paper between them before wrapping.

  6. Pack all plates in the same way and place them inside the box standing upright on their edges. Do not lay them flat because they can break easily.

  7. After packing the plates, start wrapping the bowls. Wrap each bowl separately with packing paper. Cover both the inside and outside properly.

  8. Add an extra layer of paper around delicate bowls for better protection.

  9. Place a sheet of paper inside each bowl before stacking another bowl inside it.

  10. Keep the heavier bowls at the bottom of the box and the lighter ones on top.

  11. After arranging all plates and bowls, check for empty spaces inside the box.

  12. Fill all gaps with crushed paper, towels, or a soft cloth so the items do not move.

  13. Gently shake the box to make sure nothing shifts inside. If you feel movement, add more paper.

  14. Place a final layer of packing paper on the top before closing the box.

  15. Close the box carefully and seal it tightly with strong packing tape.

  16. Keep the box upright while carrying and avoid placing heavy items on top during transport to prevent damage.

I hope now you got a clear idea on how to pack plates and bowls.
