Here is how to pack glass shelves for moving
First, clean the area and make a flat space for packing. Spread a moving blanket on the floor. This blanket protects the glass from scratches and hard hits.
Next, take a thick piece of cardboard. Place the cardboard on the blanket. This gives extra support and helps keep the glass safe when you lift it.
Carefully place the glass shelf on the cardboard. Keep the glass flat and make sure no part is hanging out.
Now fold one side of the cardboard over the glass, then fold the other side. Use a few small pieces of tape to hold the cardboard closed. You only need a little tape.
Wrap the glass with the moving blanket. Fold the sides of the blanket over the glass first. Then fold the top and bottom ends. When one end is covered, gently stand the glass up on that wrapped end.
Use plastic wrap to secure the blanket. Start wrapping from the top and move down slowly. The wrap keeps the blanket tight so it does not open.
The ends of the blanket may open, and the glass can slide out. To stop this, wrap the plastic in a “figure-eight” shape over the top and bottom ends. This keeps the blanket closed tightly.
Lay the glass down again. Wrap the rest of the shelf and make the figure-eight wrap on the bottom end, too. Add one more full wrap to keep everything safe.
