Wondering how to open NRI account in PNB? As of my latest update NRI account can only be opened if every account holder pays a physical visit to a branch (Branches of PNB).
What is the Punjab National Bank NRI Account Opening Online?
One of my friends who resides in the UK recently opened a NRI account in PNB. Hence, from her I got to know that the PNB NRI account opening online process is not available as of now. For this applicants need to visit any of the PNB branches. However, she was able to download the
formfor opening a NRI account in PNB online.
To open an account, she had to submit the following documents:
Original, signed, current passport or photo-card complete UK driver's license as proof of identity (original, valid visa required for non-UK passport holders).
A recent (less than three months old) original bank statement or utility bill (phone, gas, electricity, water, council rates) that includes the entire name serves as proof of address.
As mentioned above, separate documents are needed for each applicant in the case of a joint account.
A minimum of £20 in cash.
Each account holder will receive two passport-sized photos.

Once all the requirements were fulfilled (debit card activation, IBS, and two working days), her account was opened, and she received a welcome letter in the mail with necessary information to operate the account.
