I recently asked a friend who works as a packer and mover to relocate all of my household things from the ground floor to the second floor. I asked him how to move furniture without scratching the floor. He shared a few tips, including lightening the load on furniture, trying it on its side, and so on. I have listed all the tips below.

How to Move Heavy Furniture Without Scratching Floor?
Whether your floor is tile, carpet, or hardwood, it is particularly vulnerable to damage during a move. Although it may seem tempting to just drag furniture across the floor, experienced packers and movers strongly advise against it.
Here are some tips my friend gave me to shift my furniture without scratching the floor.
Disassemble Your Furniture
He said to make sure to disassemble everything first. This includes removing the cushions off couches, disassembling your bed frame, headboard, and mattress, and emptying all drawers from a desk or dresser. This is a quick action that will significantly reduce the load on the furniture.
Remove Everything Off the Floor
Before moving furniture, make sure everything is off the floor, including rugs, carpets, special baskets, and any other items you have. This is crucial because these items could cause problems while moving your furniture.
Take Help from Professionals
He also said it's never a smart idea to push and lift big furniture by yourself. You can end up risking injuries to your shoulders and back. So, it’s always best to hire a professional packer and mover company. They are experts in this task.
As I don’t want to take risks, I hired the professionals for my furniture shifting from ground to 2nd floor. I hope you found this helpful.
