Here is a method that might help you with how to move furniture into a second floor apartment:
Preparation: Begin by disassembling items fully to reduce size and weight. After this, measure doorways, stairs and turns in advance. Wrap everything in moving blankets or bubble wrap sealed with tape and railings with old bedsheets or foam to avoid scratching. Also, clear the path too.
Dolly Straps: You can use shoulder dolly straps to distribute weight evenly between 2 to 3 people of similar height. The stronger person has to handle the bottom end. Empty a stair climbing dolly or hand truck for boxes or mattresses. Tilt slightly back and bump up the steps slowly while 1 person guides from above. Lift with the legs of the dolly with your knees bent, back straight and keep the load centred and forward, start moving.
Hoist Using Ropes/Pulleys: If the stairs are too narrow, you should then hoist the furniture through the balcony or window using ropes or pulleys.
If you are moving alone, slide smaller pieces on blankets with ratchet straps or sliders as handles. This is all from my side. I hope this will be useful for you.
