Here is how to move a heavy concrete planter;
First, clean the planter from the outside and remove any loose soil or dry leaves from the plant. If the plant is big, gently trim extra branches so the plant becomes lighter and easier to handle.
Try to remove some soil from the planter to reduce its weight. If the planter is too heavy, shift the plant into a temporary plastic pot. This makes lifting safer and protects the plant during the move. Pack the empty concrete planter on its own so it does not crack.
Cover the stem and top part of the plant with a plastic bag that has small holes. These holes help the plant breathe. Wrap the bottom of the temporary pot with another plastic bag to keep the soil from spilling.
Place the pot carefully into a strong cardboard box. Fill the extra space inside the box with bubble wrap or old newspapers so the pot stays steady and does not shake. Seal the box with strong tape.
When it is time to move the concrete planter, always lift it with two people. Hold the planter from the bottom and lift slowly while keeping your back straight.
Avoid dragging the planter, because it can break or damage the floor. Load both the packed plant and the concrete planter into the moving vehicle. Make sure they stay upright and do not slide during travel.
During transport, check the plants whenever possible. Do not let them get too hot, and give them fresh air or a little sunlight during short breaks.
After reaching the new place, slowly unload everything. Replant the plant in its concrete planter and place it in a spot where it gets enough natural light.
Hope this helps you.
