How to measure cabinet drawer slides?

With the screwdriver and grease remove the drawer from the cabinet
Use a measuring tape to measure the box. Do not include the face of the box in your measurement.
Note down the width of the drawer as well as the width of the opening in the cabinet
Examine the interior portion of the cabinet
Examine the exterior of the cabinet
Eg. If your drawer is 20 ½ inches long, then you will probably need 20-inch drawer slides.
If the difference between the opening of the drawer and the width of the drawer is 1/8 inch, use bottom-mount guides or full-extension guides.
