As an artist, I can tell you that the turqoise colour is considered to be the color of positivity, calmness and abundant growth. It is usually the colour of the sea and that is why it brings calmness when you gaze at the turqoise colour. I myself feel a sense of emotional balance when I stare at a turqoise painted wall or a painting I painted with turqoise colour. Let me tell you what colours make turquoise.

What colors mix to make turquoise?

There are two formulas to create turqoise colour. To make a pure but pale shade of turqoise, you can use the first formula. You can mix blue, green and white together for this. You can mix blue and green to ratio fo 2:1 and add white to get the shade (light or dark) of turquoise that you want.

The second formula can be used to make a warm turquoise colour. For this, mix blue and yellow together with the ratio of 1:6. Just adding a hint of yellow will give a very beautiful warm turquoise shade.

Now that you know what two colors make turquoise, let me give you some additional

tips for making turquoise color:

  • Use good quality paint. High-quality paint will produce better results.

  • Mix the paint thoroughly. You should do this to make sure that the colour comes out uniformly.

  • Start with a small amount of paint. You can always add more paint later, but it is difficult to remove paint if you add too much.

  • Experiment with different shades of blue and green paint. There are many different shades of blue and green paint available, so you can experiment to find the perfect shade for your turquoise color.

What colors make turquoise blue?

If you want to create a turquoise blue colour, add a 2:15 ratio of blue to green. You can add more blue or green to get darker versions of them. If you want to make it light, add white to it. I hope this answers how to make turquoise blue colour.

However, the shades of this colour do not end here. When I hired a painter to paint my wall turquoise, he added a bit of yellow to it. I was quite annoyed about it but after seeing the result, I was quite astonished. Turquoise falls between blue and green so adding a bit of yellow to these colours can help you uplift it. Be sure about the proportion, it should be a 1:5 or 1:6 ratio of yellow to blue.

The painter also said that adding 19% red, 84% green, and 78% blue can also help you get a shade of turquoise. It will be a bit dark in that case.

Now, that you know how to make turquoise colour in detail, do try it out and share you loved which one the most, the yellowish one or the reddish one.

While thinking of turquoise, I can only imagine the gem and the calm, soothing sea. The colour is so vibrant yet so soothing it can make anyone confident. The name turquoise meaning 'Turkish' originated in French during the 17th century. Now, we all want to paint our canvas with shades of turquoise, but there is confusion. It is difficult to understand whether it is green-blue or blue-green. Although creating the turquoise colour can be challenging, I will share with you how to make turquoise color.

How to make turquoise color?

The colour turquoise can be made by mixing primary and secondary colours. In colour wheels, red, blue, and yellow are the primary colours. And after mixing two primary colours together we get secondary colours. So, turquoise can be made by mixing blue and green. Green is a secondary colour as we get the colour green by mixing two primary colours that are yellow and blue. Turquoise can be of different shades light turquoise, dark turquoise, pale turquoise, and bright turquoise. To get the desired shade you need to keep on mixing colours. It's better to directly purchase the turquoise colour rather than making one since it is a challenging task to make the turquoise colour. I hope you like my answer on how to make turquoise color.
