Hi there. A while ago, things were going very bad at home and we got a yajna done at home and the priest advised us to get a shivling. He described to us the shivling direction in home and I was really keen on doing it the right way. I learned there are some important rules to follow to ensure positivity and prosperity from the priest.

What is the Best Direction of Shivling in Home?

When the priest was telling, I made a notes of all the important points of how to place shivling at home direction that I needed to follow and the below is what I did:

  • First, I was asked to choose a Narmada stone Shivling, as the priest said that it’s considered the most auspicious for homes. I was also asked to place it in the north-east corner of my puja room.

  • I also learned that Shivling should never be kept alone, so I placed small idols of Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha next to it. The priest said that Shiva’s presence is incomplete without his family.

  • One thing I was told to be careful about was never offering Tulsi leaves to the Shivling, which can anger Lord Shiva. Instead, I use Belpatra leaves during the daily Abhishek.

  • I should always use cold, fresh cow’s milk and Ganga water for Abhishek.

  • Another interesting point I came across was to never eat the prasad offered to the Shivling myself. He said that doing so could bring bad luck.

Following these practices has been a fulfilling experience, and I feel a sense of peace and positivity in my home after knowing the direction of shivling at home. If you’re planning to keep a Shivling, I hope my experience helps you set it up in the best possible way.

How to Place Shiva Lingam at Home Direction?

1 2023-10-19T09:58:06+00:00

The Shiva Lingam is revered as the embodiment of spirituality, energy, source, and capability in Indian culture. It is thought to be a depiction of Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction and transformation. As a Shiv Bhakt, before keeping shivling at my home, I looked up instructions online about how to keep shivling at home direction. I discovered the easiest methods to place the Lord Shiva. See the recommended Vastu direction and methods below.

How to Keep Shiva Lingam at Home?

It is important for you to always keep your shifting facing the

north or east

of the house. Additionally, the Shiva Lingam should be treated with respect and care when kept at home.

  • It is important to position the Shiva Lingam in a suitable spot. It needs to be maintained out of the way of pollutants and noise in a tidy and calm environment.

  • The Shiva Lingam can be placed in a special area, such as a tiny shrine or altar. In order to demonstrate respect and devotion to Lord Shiva, this area should be cleaned on a regular basis and decorated with incense, fresh flowers, and other offerings.

  • Keeping the Shiva Lingam at home also requires sticking to a ritualistic method.

  • Offerings and prayers should be made to the deity every day. Mantra recitation, lamp lighting, and presenting water, milk, honey, or bilva leaves to the Shiva Lingam are a few examples of these.

Following the above tips can keep you connected to the divine energy. I hope you got an idea of the right direction of shivling at home Vastu.

Jai Bhole

My husband is a Shiva devotee and doesn’t leave for work without worshipping him. We have a shivling in our home and so can you, there is no harm in it. But there are a few things which you must take care of. I have learnt a lot from my husband in the last few years and I think I can help you out. But first, can we keep shivling at home? Yes, we can.

Now let us talk about how to keep shivling at home.

Generally, shivling should be kept in the north direction. The reason for this is that shiva resides in the north direction in Kailash and it is his home. So keep that in mind. Next I would say that the size of shivling can be 3 to 5 inches. Basically, it should not exceed the length of the palm of the eldest male member of your family.

I have seen many people who ask can we keep two shivling at home. My belief in this matter is that God is one and it is best to keep one shivling at home for its energy will be spread across your home and exude positive vibes.

Another interesting thing that I learnt from my shivbhakt husband is that you must always make sure that you pray and perform puja twice in front shivling with the complete samagri. The samagri includes white flowers, sandalwood paste and milk.

If you have any other questions regarding this I would be happy to help you. I hope you’re clear about can we keep shivling at home and how to keep shivling at home.
