Hello Sharmi. We live in Chennai and the whole house boils during the summer seasons. As cooking gets difficult, I use some methods to keep the kitchen cool throughout the day. I can thus tell you how to keep a kitchen cool. First of all, this is a pretty basic thing, but cover the windows and outside doors with curtains. They work better than you expect to drop the temperature. I will share more ways below.

How to Keep the Kitchen Cool?

Here are some methods you can use:

Paint the Walls White

One simple and easy way to reduce heat is to paint your kitchen walls white. The white colour helps reflect the sunlight and drops the room temperature.

Avoid Leaving the Oven Open

Another thing you can do is to avoid leaving the door of your oven open. Leaving the door open for a while after cooking leads to added heat.

Cook Early in the Day

This can be a little bit of trouble if you are a slow mover in the day. But, cooking during the morning when the sun isn’t at its highest will help. The room won’t heat as such and you won’t face issues compared to cooking during the afternoon.
