Hi. If you are wondering how to install window AC in grill window, I can tell you how it is done.
You first need to do some prep work before the actual installation can begin. So, measure the dimensions of your AC, like width, height and depth, precisely.
Mark the grill opening by cutting exactly to the AC size and add about 2” for clearance on the sides. You may have to call a local fabricator for clean grill cutting.
Now for the actual installation, cut a rectangular opening in the grill matching the AC footprint.
Weld L brackets or an angle iron frame around the cutout for support.
Then, keep the AC unit from the inside, extend the accordion side panels through the grill gaps.
After this, secure the AC top with sash lock brackets screwed to the window frame.
For outside support, angle iron brackets are welded to the grill supporting the AC bottom.
Seal gaps with weather stripping foam tape.
Get the electricals in pa cd, the MCB and wiring.
You can then test the connections and check that the AC is working properly.
