Summary
To install underground plumbing, first plan the layout, marking water sources, drains, and pipe routes with proper slope. Dig trenches, ensuring no obstruction from wires or gas lines, and add a sand or gravel base for stability. Lay pipes from the lowest point, joining them securely, and add inspection chambers as needed. Backfill with sand and soil, compact gently, test for leaks, and restore the surface to complete the installation.

Here is how to install underground plumbing.

  1. Plan the layout: First, plan where the water will come from and where it will go. Mark points like kitchen sinks, bathrooms, and rainwater pipes. Decide where the water will drain, such as a sewer line or soak pit. Choose the right pipe size and make sure the pipes have a slight slope so water can flow easily.

  2. Prepare the site: Mark the pipe path on the ground. Check that no electric wires or gas lines are in the way. Dig trenches to the correct depth and width. Keep the slope even from start to end so water moves smoothly.

  3. Make the trench base: Add a layer of sand or fine gravel at the bottom of the trench. This layer should be about 100 to 150 mm thick. Level and compact it well. This base protects the pipes and keeps them stable.

  4. Lay the pipes: Place the pipes in the trench, starting from the lowest point and moving upward. Join the pipes tightly using proper fittings or glue. Check that each pipe stays straight and keeps the correct slope. Add inspection chambers where needed.

  5. Cover and backfill: Cover the pipes with sand from all sides. Press the sand lightly. Fill the trench with soil in layers and compact gently to avoid damage.

  6. Test the system: Run water through the pipes. Check for leaks and make sure water flows well.

  7. Restore the area: Fill the surface back and repair the flooring, grass, or paving.

Hope you now have a clear understanding of installing the underground plumbing process.
