You will need the following tools to complete the process with ease.#6 or #8 bright-finish nails
quarter round scissors
Tape measure and pencil
An electric miter saw or hand saw and miter box
Brad nailer –
Wood glue
Hammer
Measure Trim Pieces one by one. You can measure the walls and deduce a cutting list.
Use a pencil to mark the angle at which the molding intersects the wall
If you are using a power miter saw, cut a bigger piece of wood than you need.
Cut at 45-degrees and then reverse the piece to cut again.
Make a straight cut or butt joint where the molding meets the frame.
Place the piece of molding you cut against the wall and check the length.
Measure, cut, and place another piece of molding
With the help of a nail, attach a quarter pound to the baseboard.
Insert nails or screws to lock down the end of one molding board with another.
Hide the nail marks with a putty
Fix all the remaining return pieces and mold with glue.
Make sure to not get glue directly on the wall or floor.
You can follow the steps mentioned above to install a quarter round. Just use nails and a hammer instead of a nail gun. The rest of the steps will remain the same.
