If you are wondering how to install LED lights in display cabinet, I can say you are at the right place. The first step is the prep work you must put in. Here, you need to remove the shelving along with the cabinet doors. This is to be followed by wiping down the inside of the cabinet to ensure the surface is clean and that the adhesive sticks to the inside of the cabinet.

Steps to Install LED in Display Cabinet

  1. To allow cable and, therefore, power to pass through to the LEDs, you will have to drill a small entry hole in your cabinet.

  2. The ideal place for the hole will depend on your set up, but typically, when connecting to an under cabinet lighting system, you will have to drill through the front left or the front right bottom corner of the cabinet.

  3. On the other side, if you are connecting to a run of lights above the cabinets, you may want to drill a hole near the top centre of the cabinet.

  4. Install the LED strip in an upside down U shape.

  5. Begin at one side of the cabinet to apply the flexible strip. You may want to draw a line along the inside of the cabinet for guidance.

  6. Install the lighting along the perimeter of the cabinet, keeping it as close to the front as possible to avoid interference with the door hinges or shelving.

  7. Continue around the cabinet and peel the adhesive as you go.

  8. When you approach a corner, don’t be worried about bending the flexible strip. Just be careful of the resistors and solder joints, which are delicate.

  9. Plug the lights in to check they are working properly. Then, just re-attach the door to the cabinet.

I hope this helps.

Hi Himesh. I wanted to do a makeover for my boring cabinet. So, I decided to install LED lights on my own and the result was beautiful. It did take some effort and time, but I am well-versed with how to install LED lights in display cabinet. So, I will share the complete steps you can perform to add lights to your cabinet with ease.

Process to Install LED Lights in a Display Cabinet

Here is the method you can follow:

  1. Begin by purchasing LED lights. You will find them in different lengths and some can be joined to make longer lengths.

  2. Next, measure the length and depth of your cabinet and create a U-shaped frame to these measurements. I used 18mm square stock, but you can also use something decorative such as moulding.

  3. Cut the corners at an angle of 45 degrees on the mitre saw and join them using steel corner brackets.

  4. Now you must drill some counter sunk holes into the made frame and screw it into the underside of your cabinets.

  5. Once the frame is attached, sand everything down and fix any issues with the mitres.

  6. You need to clean the underside of the cabinets and then stick the lights to the underside.

  7. Once you are done with this, hide the cable to the best of your ability. I had cut the cable and ran it through the inside of my cabinets, then out again in the plug.

And voila, your cabinet has LED lights now. I hope this helps.

Hey there,

I am an interior decorator by profession and I have always found a glass display cabinet as a standard piece of furniture in any traditionally decorated living room. Such cabinets allow you to display your favourite objects, ornaments, or anything else that represents your individuality to visitors. However, if you presently have an empty display cabinet and are unsure what to put in it, or if the cabinet isn't sticking out as much as you'd want, you may be stuck for ideas. One of the best ideas which work amazingly well for most of my clients is LED

cabinet lighting.

Get beautiful cabinets and other furniture on rent on NoBroker at the lowest guaranteed EMI and the highest guaranteed quality. Take the help of expert Interior Designers of NoBroker in installing LED lights for your display cabinets and enhancing the look of your home.

Many people overlook LED under cabinet lighting when designing their homes, but these fixtures are an excellent addition to any built-in shelving units or freestanding display furniture. Typically, display furniture is used to showcase a prized collection, such as photos, sports memorabilia, literature, artwork, or anything else. The purpose of a collection is to impress guests and to remind the homeowner of major life events or times, and without the correct fixtures, the collection will not be shown off to its full potential.

How to install LED lights in the display cabinet?

Lighting up your display cabinet and its contents is another method to add some life to it. This can be accomplished by adding lighting to it; while this may appear to be a complex task, it is actually quite simple and there are various options.

LED lights can be used in a variety of ways in your display cabinet, including

  • Installing LED strips: Consider installing LED lights around the interior corners of the cabinet for a cost-effective and dependable option. The wire from mains power to the lighting can then be connected by drilling a small hole in a hidden portion. If you want even more control, consider choosing an LED strip set that allows you to alter the colour or brightness of the lighting remotely.

  • Attach LED puck lights: Attaching battery-powered LED lights to your display cabinet is a simple option for making permanent changes to your display cabinet. Simply affix them to the underside of each shelf using stickers or double-sided cellotape, and replace the batteries when the lights go out.

These are a few suggestions I always give to my clients and friends about LED

cabinet lighting. Do tell me if you found them helpful.
