How Do You Install a Doorbell?

Since my doorbell had an option to be installed without drilling, I followed these steps on how to install door bell:

• I checked my doorbell box and took out a no-drill mount which had adhesive tape on the back which was double sided.

• Then I located a spot for my ring doorbell. I made sure it was 48 inches off the ground.

• I held the no-drill mount in the location that I needed and made sure it was level to the pencil mark I had made on the wall.

• I took out the adhesive covering and then pressed the mount tightly against the wall.

• I held the mount for 2-3 minutes and made sure it was firmly secured to the wall.

• Then I held my doorbell and pushed the screws into the no-drill mount plate.

• I finally pushed the faceplate and secured the bell using a security screw which was below it.

• Locate a place for the doorbell receiver. Check the specifications on your doorbell to find out how far the receiver can be from the door button. As a chime unit, the receiver should be placed in a location where others can easily hear it.  

• Connect the receiver to a regular electrical outlet. If you have additional receivers, locate them and plug them in. 

• If your receiver runs on batteries, put the batteries in it and use the screws from your installation package to mount it to a wall or wherever else you like. 

• Install the doorbell button attachment bracket at the front entrance.

• Place batteries on the doorbell button. 

• The mounting bracket for the doorbell button should be fastened.  

• Check the manufacturer's instructions to see if you need to put a code on either one, or both, of your doorbell's sending and receiving components in order to prevent interfering frequencies. Some wireless doorbells feature coded transmitting and receiving modules. 

• Test the doorbell.
