Hey, I know how to install a water softener in pre plumbed house and can tell you the steps:
Begin by turning off the main supply line through which water comes.
Next, find the pre plumbed water softener loop, which is like a U-shaped pipe or capped pipe close to the main water entry point.
Now keep the water softener unit close to the loop and make sure it sits on level ground. The location must have access to a drain and an electrical outlet if the softener needs power.
Cut the main water line with the help of a pipe cutter at the designated points to fit elbow fittings that connect to the inlet and outlet of the water softener. Have a bucket ready to catch any residual water.
Install the elbow fittings, bypass valve and connect flexible tubing or pipe from your softener to the plumbing loop. Use compression fittings and make sure all the connections are tight.
Next up, you need to connect the drain hose from the water softener to a closeby utility sink or drain. Ensure the drain line is vented well.
Open the bypass valve partially and turn the main water supply on slowly. Check for any leaks and let water flow through the system.
After this, plug the unit and configure the softener settings, along with the hardness level and regeneration frequency, as per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Run the softener through a regeneration cycle to ensure proper operation and flush out any debris or trapped air.
Hope this helps.
