I have been using Paytm, PhonePe, Bhim and more for transferring money but the bank officials said to use the YONO app since it is very much authentic and will be able to know all the details related with my SBI account from it easily. My brother is out of town so my father asked me to send money to him and the amount is quite high. I was not sure whether I would be able to send so much money or not so I asked my friend about how to increase transfer limit in SBI YONO  if needed. The steps are very few and easy so let me tell you how to do it. Pay your bills instantly with NoBroker Utility Bill Payment Service and get exciting rewards in return.

What is the SBI YONO money transfer limit?

Various methods can be used to transfer money using YONO LITE SBI that are as follows:
  • Transfer within self account limit= Rs 2,00,000 within your accounts every day
  • Third-party transfer= Rs 10,00,000 per day
  • Interbank Transfer or NEFT= Rs 10,00,000 per day
  • Interbank Transfer or RTGS = Rs 10,00,000 per day
  • Quick Transfer = Rs 25,000 per day and per transaction
  • mCash Transfer is Rs 1101 per transaction, 2202 per day and 5101 per month.

To increase transfer limit in SBI YONO app, you need to go to its Settings section. State Bank of India sets the UPI transaction limit regardless of the app you use (YONO, SBI YONO Lite, BHIM SBI Pay):

  1. Rs 1,00,000 per transaction

  2. Rs 1,00,000 total per day

  3. Max 20 person-to-person (P2P) transactions per day within the daily cap.

This is the maximum limit allowed by SBI’s policy. You cannot increase it above Rs1 lakh for normal UPI transfers. In some cases, your UPI limit may be temporarily restricted (e.g., after resetting your UPI PIN). Like, for the first 24 hours (Android) or first 5 days (iOS) after PIN reset, the limit may be capped at Rs 5,000 per day. I have shared how to increase transfer limit in SBI YONO app below.

How to Increase Money Transfer Limit in Yono SBI?

Even though you cannot raise the bank’s maximum above Rs 1 lakh, you can set or restore your transaction limits up to that cap using the SBI YONO app. For that, follow these steps:

  1. Open the SBI YONO app.

  2. Log in with your credentials.

  3. Go to the “YONO Pay” or “BHIM UPI” section.

  4. Tap your profile or settings icon.

  5. Choose “Set UPI Transaction Limit”.

  6. Enter your desired limit (up to Rs 1,00,000) and confirm.

  7. Authenticate with OTP/Internet Banking credentials.

While standard personal UPI limits are fixed, SBI and NPCI have introduced higher limits (Rs 5 to 10 lakh) for specific categories like:

  1. Credit card payments to merchants

  2. Capital markets / mutual funds or insurance

  3. Foreign inward remittances

These are not general UPI transfers but special use-case limits.

If you need to transfer more than Rs 1 lakh in a day, use non-UPI options within YONO:

  1. IMPS – real-time transfers up to much higher limits (subject to bank policy)

  2. NEFT / RTGS – for large bank-to-bank transfers (higher caps)
