You can increase the hot water pressure in your shower by checking a few simple things at home.

  1. First, make sure no other taps or water-using appliances are running when you take a shower. When everything else is off, all the water flows only to your shower, and the pressure becomes better.

  2. Try taking a shower during off-hours. Early mornings and evenings are busy times, so water pressure becomes low. Showering at a different time can give you a stronger hot water flow.

  3. Check all the valves connected to your shower. Sometimes a valve is not fully open, and this reduces the water pressure.

  4. Open the isolation valve and the main valve completely.

  5. If the issue continues, ask your local water authority to check the outside valve.

  6. If your shower has a hose, see if it is bent or twisted. A bent hose blocks the flow of water. Straighten it or replace it if it is damaged.

  7. Clean the showerhead because mineral deposits can block the water holes.

  8. Remove the showerhead and soak it in white vinegar for a few hours.

  9. Brush off the dirt, fix it back, and check the pressure again.

  10. If the showerhead is old or damaged, replace it with a good-quality one that allows proper water flow. Sometimes the problem is inside the shower valve. If the valve parts are worn out, they reduce the hot water pressure. Replacing the valve can fix this, and you may need a plumber for this job.

  11. Old pipes also cause low pressure because mineral buildup reduces the inside space of the pipe. Replacing old pipes can improve water flow. If your pipe size is too small for your home, upgrading to bigger pipes helps increase pressure.

  12. If nothing works, you can install a shower pump. The pump increases the pressure of hot water before it reaches the shower, but a plumber must install it.

Hope you now get an idea how to increase hot water pressure in shower.
