Hey pal,

I have two dogs that tend to run off into the street. I added a chain link fence around my property to keep them safe while keeping trespassers away. I will share with you tips and tricks on how to hide a fence with plants. Keep reading to know more.

Fake plants :

The easiest method is adding slats covered with fake plants along the length of the fence. You can get rolls of fake plants and hang them on the chain mail with hooks. It is an easy- low-maintenance way to add greenery to your property.

Real plants :

Get any plant that grows in tendrils. I have hung a money plant that continues to grow and take the shape of the fence. You can get Dutchman's Pipe, Trumpet vine, Clematis, Climbing Hydrangea or Honeysuckle.

Here are a few inexpensive ways to hide a chain link fence : Bamboo Screen :

You can get rolled bamboo fencing that can be easily attached by the poles. The thickness of the pole can range from 3/4-inch to 2 inches. You will need to tie the bamboo pole with foot-long pieces of 16 gauge wire or directly to the fence.

  Reed screen :

You can get a bundle of reed screens from your local market or home centres. Usually, one single screen can cover 8- to 16-foot of your fence. The installation process for the same is easy as well. Though I must warn you, reed screens don't have a long shelf life. Post the two-year mark, reeds will begin to fall apart.

Depending on your budget, you can even use wooden panels or wind mesh for it. This is all from my end on how to hide a fence with plants.
