It can become a nightmare if you do not have any shelves in the bathroom. Most of us ignore placing any shelves in the bathroom but the bottles and soap cases only end up cluttering the space. I wanted to get rid of the bottles and soap cases making a mess on my sink so I decided to install a floating box in my bathroom. I have installed the floating shelf on my own so I will share with you how to hang floating box shelves.

Hanging wall box shelves: Step-by-step guide:
To hang box shelves you will need:
1×6 lumber, 8footlong (4)
Wood glue
Clamps
Drill
1½inch screws (36)
Sandpaper
Wood stain
Varnish
Brush
Level
Pencil
2½inch metal brackets (6)
½inch screws (24)
4-inch wide tins (optional)
Cut the lumber into six pieces and the size should be 4 feet each and cut the other six pieces which should be of 9-inch size each. Place the 9-inch piece perpendicular to the 4-foot plank and use wood glue.
Apply glue on the opposite side of the 9-inch planks and lay a 4-foot board across. Apply gentle pressure on the board until the planks dry up.
If you want to place small items such as shampoo bottles, body wash glue will suffice. If not, then make some holes with a driller and insert the screw in the planks to make a box.
Take 100-grit sandpaper to remove splinters from the boxy shelves.
Now, take a colour of your choice and start colouring the box. Acrylic paints are best for colouring a boxing shelf.
After the paint dries, you should make arrangements to hang the shelves. Hold the shelf and ensure that it is horizontal to the bathroom wall. Mark the corners of the wall where you want to hang your floating shelf. After setting the shelf use 2-½-inch brackets and ½-inch screws. Place one bracket for each corner of the box.
Lift the box shelf and place it on the brackets. Secure the shelf by drilling holes in the wooden shelf.
Repeat the process to hand other shelves in the bathroom if required.
