You can transfer the electricity meter to your name by following these steps:

  1. Obtain the name transfer form from the local electricity office.

  2. Fill out the form and submit it to the authorities.

  3. Obtain a no objection certificate (NOC) from the current owner of the electricity meter or the person who is presented as a “Vendor” on your sale deed.

  4. Make note of the electricity meter’s serial number.

  5. Submit the indemnity bond and power agreement along with your application.

  6. Submit your sale deed.

The expected costs of these would be around INR 450/-.
