I stay in Bangalore, and the weather here is considered amazing but the constant cloud cover and cold temperatures, particularly during the monsoon season, can result in the growth of mould and mildew. I usually take care of cleanliness in my home considering good indoor air quality. But last Sunday, I found mould growing on my window sealant. I immediately asked my mom, how to get rid of mould on window sealant? She thankfully recommended using vinegar, and baking soda, which actually worked.
How to Remove Mould from Window Sealant?
To begin, dab a paste of baking soda and white vinegar into the sealant. While the baking soda will aid in stain removal, the white vinegar kills the mould spores.
After letting the paste sit for ten to fifteen minutes, remove it with a sponge or scrub brush.
After the paste has been removed, carefully dry the area by rinsing it with warm, and clean water.
Since then, I usually wipe down windows regularly to keep sealants dry and mould free.
