I wanted to apply for leased land, but I was struggling with the question of how can I get government land on lease. So, I asked my friend, as he took the land on lease last year. The process was straightforward, but required patience. Here’s how it worked for me:
I submitted an application with all the required documents.
After approval, I appeared before the Land Allotment Committee (LAC).
Once approved, pay 25 per cent earnest money deposit within 15 days.
I received an allotment letter with the plot number and paid the remaining amount within 30 days.
As I did, I paid the road width charges since my plot was under 10 acres. Larger plots get concessions.
In cities without development authorities, applications go through the sub-registrar office.
I hope you found this helpful.
