The full form of EWS is the “Economically Weaker Section”. EWS certificates are granted by the government solely to people who are economically disadvantaged. I am from the general category and I faced several setbacks in my college life. But when the EWS certificate was introduced, it helped me really well. EWS certificates are comparable to other concessions in that they reserve a 10% quota for individuals who have them. The government of India has introduced a new EWS income certificate category in 2019. You can benefit if you fall in a general category like other caste reservations. Let’s see how to get EWS certificate.

A process on how to get EWS certificate in Delhi:

1) Here is a link to the EWS application form.

2) Take a printout of the application form first.

3) Enter the applicant's personal information and provide a photograph.

5) Fill in the blanks with your personal information like marital status, gender, father’s name, religion, caste, sub-caste, age, Aadhaar number, mobile number, email address, date of birth and Pan Card.

6) Details about the family: father's name, mother's name, spouse's name, sibling names, and children's names.

6) Current address details like tehsil, post office, district, village/town, police station, Pin code, state.

7) Permanent address details like tehsil, post office, district, village/town, police station, Pin code, state.

8) Birthplace, average annual income of the family and income details.

9) Detail of family property and undertaking.

7) Now visit the nearest authority office along with your application form.

The process to get EWS certificate in Andhra Pradesh:

The process to get an EWS certificate is different for every state. Let’s take the example of Andhra Pradesh state.

1) Visit the official website of

Andhra Pradesh here.

2) You must select the "Revenue Department" option on the website's homepage. A new page will appear in front of you after that.

3) On this page, you may see a selection of Revenue Department services, and you must select “Income Certificate” from the drop-down menu.

4) A new page will appear in front of you, with the application form.

5) Complete the application form carefully, including the applicant's name, parent/name, husband's Aadhaar number, date of birth, gender, and applicant's age.

6) Click the “Show Payment” tab after uploading the appropriate documents. Finally, make a payment and confirm it by clicking the “Confirm Payment” option.
