Hello Nayandeep. To get the NOC certificate from society, you will have to draft a letter and send it to the society’s management. You will have to write and submit the letter along with a few documents, as Mr. Debansh said in his answer. I will tell you the exact format of the letter and what to include in the body of the letter to get a quick nod from the society and get the certificate.

How to Write Request Letter to Scoiety for NOC?

Here is how you can draft your letter:

  1. Sender’s information: Include your name, address and contact details.

  2. Date: Mention the date on which you are drafting the letter.

  3. Recipient’s information: Address the letter to the respective person of the society management committee, such as the chairman or secretary.

  4. Subject: Add a short and clear subject, like ‘Request for NOC for (Purpose to get the NOC)”

  5. Salutation: Greet the recipient professionally by adding “Sir/Madam”.

  6. Body: You need to be clear and to the point in your body. Include a brief introduction of yourself and the purpose of the letter. Mention the reason for requesting the NOC clearly. Include the property details, such as the flat number, building and society name. Add any other information, such as the payment proof of dues or prior approvals from the society.

  7. Conclusion: Conclude by requesting prompt processing and offering your assistance wherever needed.

  8. Closing Line: Finish the letter with a professional closing like “Sincerely” and add your name and signature.

This is all. I hope this will help you draft a letter and get the NOC.

To get an NOC from your society, you need to write a formal request letter to the society’s chairperson or secretary. Make sure you state the purpose of getting the NOC clearly in the letter. The document will stand as a proof that your society agrees with your property-related plans. I have applied for an NOC in the past so, would be happy to tell you how to get an NOC certificate from society.

How to Get an NOC Certificate from Society in India?

NOC is often required when you’re selling the property, transferring ownership, or just renovating the house. Whatever the reason is, mention the same in the letter, and keep it formal and brief. Here are some steps you can follow to get an NOC from society.

  1. First, write the application letter, stating why you need an NOC and mention your flat number and other membership details, if any.

  2. Next, get all the required documents to support your application. This will include your property ownership proof (sales deed), Identify proof, recent maintenance payment receipts, passport sized photographs, bank statements, no dues certificate from current lenders, if any.

  3. Then, submit your application along with all the documents. You will most likely receive an acknowledgement slip. Then, pay the application fees, if any. Also, ensure to keep extra copies of your submitted documents and application.

  4. After you submit, the committee will verify your application and documents. They will also check for pending dues before finally approving.

So, that’s the process. It usually takes around 7 days to process the requests for urgent cases. But it can take even longer depending on the society. In my case, it took around two weeks to get the approval.
