Before putting it back, he said it is important to clean around the hole and the bottom of the tap.
He mentioned a new washer should be used under the tap to make a good seal.
It is better to replace the plastic nut with a brass back nut, as it is much stronger and won’t come loose again.
Then tightened the nut using a spanner and a bar.
He ensured the washer in the pipe fitting was still good before reconnecting the water pipe.
Finally, he said to turn the water back on and check for leaks.
