Almost 2 months ago, I observed that the finish on my wooden table was peeling and dulling. It really disturbed me. The table wasn't old, but the patches gave it a worn-out, neglected appearance. How to Fix Dent in Wood Table?
It is important first to check the damage and understand the finish type.
Dip a soft cloth in mild soap and warm water.
Wipe the table thoroughly.
Dab the discolouration with a tiny bit of toothpaste.
Now, rub it gently and wipe the area with a soft cloth.
As there was deeper damage in my wooden table, the carpenter applied wood filler to it.
Allow it to dry and sand it flat to match the surface.
After that, apply a fresh coat of matching wood finish using a delicate brush. Allow it to dry.
Buff the surface carefully with steel wool and apply a second coat.
Finally, apply furniture polish to the table and polish it with a microfiber towel.
Now, my wooden table appeared revitalised, nearly brand new, and the shine returned. I hope you found these steps helpful.
