Hey! The simplest way to fix that would be to use wood glue. I have done it before, but if you want a quick and temporary fix, you can use a thin strip of cardboard too. But let’s not forget we want a permanent solution here, so you don’t have to keep fixing it all the time. You may as well try re-tightening the loose screws, if any. I have shared a detailed guide on how to fix a table that wobbles below.
How to Fix a Wobbly Wooden Table?
I slightly agree with Anwesha here about the wine corks and heavy books, but I feel those aren't permanent fixes. The important thing here is to first understand why the table is wobbling. Is it because of loose screws? Or is your floor unsteady?
Let me tell you my case. One joint was loose, which caused the wobble, so I used a wood glue. Here’s how.
I flipped the table over and filled the gaps with the glue.
I also unscrewed the leg and filled the area with glue.
Then, I reinstalled the leg. Make sure you do it before the glue dries.
You can use a wood epoxy too, but it’s a little harder to work with. So, I used the glue, which works just fine.
That’s all how to fix table wobble. If the legs of your table have glides and they are uneven, you can simply twist them counterclockwise to make the table longer, or clockwise to make it shorter.
Let me know if you use any of these and how it went.

Wobbly tables can be a big nuisance, especially when you have invited guests over. I was stuck in a similar situation last week, when I hosted a Diwali party. The table in my dining room was unsteady and I wondered how to fix a wobbly table. I had no time to call for any help so I did a quick online search and found a few tips to fix it instantly. Let me share the same with you.
How to Stop my Table from Wobbling?
First of all, I learned that you must understand the reason for a wobbly table. Only after knowing the reason, can you come up with the right solution. Here are few causes of a wobbly table-
The legs on your table/desk are not the same height
Your floor isn’t flat, which can make it difficult for the table to stand steady
In case of an automatic standing desk, improper adjustment of the legs can cause the table to wobble.
In my case, the legs of the table weren’t of the same height, due to which it couldn’t stand straight. For a temporary fix, I slid a small cardboard under the shorter leg to balance the both. I found a few other ways on how to stop table from wobbling which you can consider -
Put Heavy Books on the Table
This might be a temporary solution but if you don’t have time to call a carpenter and need a quick fix, this is the method you can try.
Wine Corks
You can also cut some corks into small pieces and attach them to the bottom of the table legs with the help of a double-sided tape. This will give stability to the table.
Saw the Legs
If you have a table with adjustable legs, you can use a saw to trim the legs which are longer. After you saw the leg, sand the surface for a smooth finish. You may want to call a carpenter for this as it’s a tricky method and may need professional intervention.
I hope this helps you understand how to stop a table from wobbling.

There are few things more annoying than a shaky table during a lovely supper. I've run into this problem more than once, therefore I'm here to offer some helpful advice from firsthand knowledge on how to fix a wobbly table.
How To Fix A Wobbly Wooden Table
Find out which table leg is causing the wobble before you begin any repairs. Use a small level to locate the uneven leg, or place your hand on the tabletop to feel for movement.
Check the hardware holding the table leg to the top down. Wobbles are frequently caused by loose screws or nuts. To tighten them, use a wrench or screwdriver.
Use shims if the wobbling still exists. To level the table, these little wedges can be positioned underneath the crooked leg. Once the table is stable, cut a shim to the proper size and place it beneath the leg.
Felt pads with adhesive are an additional good option. Attach these pads to the underside of the crooked leg. Their absorbing qualities can make up for modest variations in leg length.
Consider using adjustable leveling feet in place of the regular table feet for a more long-lasting solution. To ensure that your table is properly level, they can be readily adjusted.
You can sand down or reduce the larger table leg to match the others if you're skilled with woodworking. To preserve the aesthetics of the table, this should be done with caution.
Make a stabilizing bracket as a do-it-yourself project by fastening a piece of metal or wood diagonally between the unsteady leg and the other leg. This might offer more assistance.
Now that you know how to fix a wobbly table top, it is time to get working!
