Plumbers' tape works well as a sealant to stop leaks in an emergency. Here is how to fix a leaking threaded pipe joint without removing it:

  1. Close the water supply valve that connects to the pipe.

  2. Turn on the faucet and flush out the remaining water.

  3. To reveal the threading, remove the nuts that hold the pipes together with a wrench.

  4. Apply the tape in the same direction as the thread spiral after starting two threads back from the pipe's end.

  5. As you wrap the tape two to four times, pull it firmly and press it on the threads.

  6. Cut down the tape and press its loose end.

  7. Finally, reattach your pipe and check for leaks.

Just remember, never use plumber's tape on PVC pipes since it may cause you to overtighten the connection.

Here is how to fix a leaking pipe joint without replacing it:

  1. Epoxy putty: To stop the pipe joint leakage, add this putty to the pipe's surface.

  2. Plumber’s tape or Teflon tape: To form a waterproof seal, you must wrap Teflon or plumber's tape around the leaky section of the pipe joint.

  3. Rubber sheets or pipe clamps: Pipe clamps, regardless of the type of pipe, are vital for fast and easy repair. Use a pipe clamp and encircle the leak with rubber sheets. Plastic clamps go well with PVC pipes, whereas stainless steel clamps work well with copper and PEX pipes.

  4. Hose clamps: To compress the leak, you must fasten a hose clamp around the pipe and tighten it. You may also reuse an old garden hose.

  5. Pipe repair clamps: Pinhole leaks in pipes can be swiftly fixed using these specialised clamps.

You can try any one of these methods.
