It was really annoying when I heard a gurgling sound coming from the toilet last week. I hence researched how to fix toilet gurgling, and came to know it happens because of the blockage. I found it can be repaired by plunging, clearing the vent stack, etc. I have shared the easiest hacks below.

How do You Fix a Gurgling Toilet?

Here are a few hacks I came across to fix a gurgling toilet.

  • Take a plunge in the toilet. Make sure the bowl has enough water to cover the plunger.

  • You can also use a plumber's snake to dilodge the drain.

  • Check the roof vent stack for obstructions such as bird nests or leaves. With a sewer cleanout, get rid of them.

As it was out of my knowledge, I planned to hire a professional plumber to fix mine. I hope you found this helpful.

The gurgling of the toilet is a big nuisance and is generally caused due to air being trapped within the pipe of the toilet. I faced this issue a few weeks back, and to solve it I started looking for how to fix a gurgling toilet online. One of the easiest ways to get rid of this issue is to use a plunger. For this, you can take a plunger and make a few quick thrusts.

If the issue is minor, doing the above-mentioned method will easily get rid of the gurgling. If the problem persists, you can just try a few other methods.

Use a Sewer Snake

You can try using a drain auger, which is also known as a sewer snake. This is a great method, but if the issue is deep, a small drain auger won’t be able to reach it. For that, you need to use an auger with a longer cable, which is generally motorised.

Clean the Vent Stack

Blockages in vents can also cause toilets to gurgle. To solve the issue, you can inspect the vent and clean it if necessary.

If your problem doesn’t get solved even after this, then it's best to call a professional plumber. The gurgling of my toilet was solved just after plunging a few times.
