One day, I noticed that the corner of my hardwood table appeared rough and uneven. My pet dog had chewed on it. At first, I panicked because I thought that my furniture was permanently damaged. But rather than giving up, I planned to fix it. So, I hired a carpenter and observed the process he followed on how to fix a chewed wood corner. I have shared those with you below.

How to Fix Wood Corner Chewed by Dog?

  1. Use a paper towel and clean the chipped area of wood.

  2. If the damage is spreading over a wider region, use a cordless drill to make small, shallow craters on the chipped wood.

  3. Sand away chunks of wood using a sheet of 150-grit sandpaper.

  4. Apply the wood filler to the chipped wood using a putty knife.

  5. Gently shape the filler to match the contour of the original corner.

  6.  As directed by the manufacturer, let the filler dry fully.

  7. Slightly sand them with 150-grit sandpaper.

  8. Use your selected shade of wood stain that matches the rest of the wood and carefully fill in the damaged areas.

  9. Allow it to dry completely.

  10. Again, apply the same 150-grit sandpaper.

  11. Use a standard paintbrush and apply a generous amount of your favorite shade of wood paint.

  12. Finally, allow the paint to dry for at least six hours.

This is the process the carpenter followed to fix my wooden corner of the table chewed by a dog. I hope you found this information helpful.
